My Favorite Reads--AND a Giveaway

Happy Wednesday everyone!
I hate Wednesdays... soooo to brighten it up a bit I want to document my favorite books AND host a giveaway.
I absolutely LOVE to read and am always in the need of new books.
I am kinda picky about what I read though.
I want to be surprised. I want to be intrigued. I want a bit of everything; romance, adventure, mystery, etc.
I want to be transported to a new world and lose myself completely.
I have found a few worthy ones along my journey and I would love to share them with you.

First off...
The Princess Bride

Its got it all
Fencing. Fighting. Strong Hate. Harsh Revenge. A Few Giants. Lots of Bad Men. Lots of Good Men. Five or Six Beautiful Women. Beasties Monstrous and Gentle. Some Swell Escapes and Captures. Death, Lies, Truth, Miracles and True love.
I love how Goldman interrupts his telling of the story with random thoughts and side stories. Some might find that annoying, but I think its hilarious.

Variant

This was my most recent read and it was a fun read
It doesnt require much thought, it was pure entertainment.
Its about a boy who escapes his foster home life when he's accepted to a prestigious school.
He comes to find out that its actually a prison and nobody is who they appear to be.
Very fun but sure ends in a cliffhanger. I cant wait until October when the second one comes out.

Of course I like these series:

Yup, I am on the bandwagon.
But I claim that I liked these BEFORE they all became so wildly popular.

I also liked:

Divergent

Obviously I'd been diggin the Utopian type books lately.
This one was good as well.

The Help

I read this while on vacation in Cancun and I absolutely LOVED it.
Nothing, I repeat NOTHING beats a good book in a hammock on the beach.
Oh ok add a nonalcoholic beverage and its heaven.

But I think my ALL TIME FAVORITE book(s) are by the author, Shannon Hale.
The books of Bayern series is awesome but my favorite are the first two:
Goose Girl and Enna Burning

Shannon Hale's retelling of the fairy tale, The Goose Girl is superb.
Its full of adventure, romance, mystery... oh my you guys, its got it all!
It takes a few chapters for the fun to start, but it needs to be there to explain the story.
And as much as I adore Goose Girl, I love Enna Burning even more.
Yes, I said MORE.
Its just... *sigh*... fantastic.

Because I love you guys, I am hosting a giveaway.
I would be thrilled to share one of my favorite things with you and I am offering one lucky reader the opportunity to own a copy of their very own Goose Girl!

My husband and I are huge readers! Our reception was actually book themed, hahaha!
I have so many favorites that it's hard to pick just one. I really enjoy many of the book that you posted. I guess if I had to pick one and just one it would be Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. If I had to pick a non-fiction book it would be (well after the scriptures :P) 5 Love Languages, such a good and insightful read.

My all time favorite book is Calico Captive by Elizabeth George Speare. It is the story of a girl who is taken by indians, and later sold as a maid to the French. It is a great read with a little romance throughout. :)
