Much Needed Date Night

Gavin has been super busy lately with work and school and studying.
Oh man, I hardly see him anymore.
But last night, we went on a much needed date night and it was a
 BLAST!
Have you ever heard of The Dating Diva's?
If you havent, go check them out because they are awesome.
Their website is FULL of fun and cheap ideas for date night.
Knowing we had a date coming up, I spent hours browsing through all their
date suggestions to find one for us to do that night.
It was difficult to choose just one.
I think its safe to say, we will be visiting that site often for new and fun ideas for dates,
gifts, recipes, articles on strengthening relationships.
They are AWESOME!

For our date, we decided to do the Bookstore Date

I gave him an invitation that can be downloaded here and I asked him to be my bookworm for the night.
Gav is not much of a reader, especially reading for FUN! Gasp!
BUT! That would change quickly.
We went to Barnes and Nobel and we found a cozy little spot and I whipped out the “Task Cards” provided on the website
The first task was to visit the COOKING section & chose a recipe that you would like to make for your spouse.

I choose a sweet recipe for Strawberry Bon Bons. Soooo Yummy.

Gav choose a pizza recipe that looks super delicious.

The next task was to visit the MAGAZINE section & find a quiz in a magazine that you and your spouse could do together.

It was super hard to find a quiz so we just read an article together. Trauma Rama is awesome.

The next task was to visit the CHILDREN’S section & find a book that was a favorite when you were a child or that holds a special memory for you…and read them to each other when you meet back up.

Gav wasnt too excited for this one because he couldnt remember what books he read, if any, growing up.
{Poor deprived child}
But he really liked the one I choose. :)

Next, we visited the TRAVEL section and fond a picture on a place we would like to visit someday.

I choose Italy of course.

Gav choose the Cayman Islands.
Ironically, he has always wanted to go there because of a BOOK he read!
{The Firm by  John Grisham}
Someday we will make it there... :)

It was so much fun and it was FREE!
Sometimes you get stuck in a rut of just watching movies as a couple
{not that movies are bad, we LOVE movies}
But sometimes you need some time to just talk and laugh together.
This was perfect!
We didnt even get through the tasks before it got late so we have ANOTHER date prepared.
So fun. I love him.
How did I get so luckily to be married so such a hunk of burnin love?
:)
Go check out The Dating Divia's now and tell me what you plan to do for your next date!

PS. Be sure to enter the giveaway!

P.S. My dad just recently bought my daughter the same children's book you picked out. It is so sweet!!
