hi.

how was your V-day?

we celebrated on Monday because Gav had class and a basketball game. (pics to come!)

good thing too because i was NOT feeling good.

Food poisoning, heartburn, and pregnancy. Not fun.

Then last night I went out to the garage to get something out of the fridge--

and I got locked out.

Yup.

No shoes, no jacket, no phone and NO key.

So i ran outside to see if the back door was open.

no luck.

so i went back to the garage, but THAT door locked on me.

I didnt know what to do.

Gav was at his game and probably wouldnt answer his phone for another hour.

So i ran to the neighbors and started calling everyone whose number I had memorized.
Which was my mom, my dad and my husband.

It was awkward.

"Um, hey. Yeah your daughter got locked out of her own house. . . She is a keeper."

After some phone calls, luck happened.

Gavin called because A) His game had been canceled because of not enough players for the other team, so they forfeit. And B) because the number I called on was an out of state number and he thought he was getting a call from one of the schools we had been waiting to hear from.

thank goodness.

my hero came and let me in before i froze to death.

I just love spending time at my parents house for the weekend.

Gavin had some interviews this weekend so I was alone and it was so great to be able to spent time with my family to distract me from missing my hubby too much.

I am excited to have a home of my {our} own someday and fill it with love and laughter.

Of course we have that now, but it will be nice to have our own place someday.

I love how my mama decorates. Maybe she will decorate my house for me someday.

Blessings in Disguise

Ever have one of those days where you just want to go to sleep so the day would be over? Yesterday was one of those days
I feel like I have those more often since becoming pregnant.
Gotta love those hormones.
Gavin has a way of making everything better and for that I will always love him.
A few months ago, we decided we wanted to start a family and it was an emotional time because I had many fears.
I was afraid of how my life would change, whether good or bad. Change is always scary.
I was afraid of all the changes my body would go through.
I was afraid of any complications that could happen.
I was afraid we wouldnt have enough money.
I was afraid I wont be a good mother.

But since experiencing this adventure, my fears are still there, but they are different.

I am still afraid of how my life will change, but I am excited for it and am anxious for this new chapter in our lives.
I am still afraid of all the changes my body has {and still will!} go through but feeling her move and knowing that so many women have done it before me puts me so much more at ease. It is fun to see her grow!
I am still afraid of complications that could happen, of course! But I also know that Heavenly Father will help Gavin and I through anything.
I am still afraid of not having money to pay for all the expenses, but again, my Heavenly Father is there to help us and we have such an amazing support system in our family and friends. I know we will always have the help we need.
I am still afraid I wont be a good mother, but I know that this is what I am supposed to be doing. Sure, there will be times that I wont feel like #1 Mommy but I know I will be giving it everything I got and thats all I can ask.
I am so glad for those little blessings in disguise...

Super Bowl

I love Superbowl Sundays.
Mainly because of the food.
I will openly admit that I was on Pinterest most of the game.
I am not ashamed.
It was still fun to be with family and laugh at the commercials.

After eating all the yummy food, my sister said she had a food baby so we had to take a picture.

Celebrating Sissy's Birthday

It was my sissy's birthday this weekend as well.
She turned 19 and we took her to brunch at this awesome place in downtown SLC called Wild Grapes.
So good.
My favorite was the artisan bread, fruit and cheese.

My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

This weekend I got to be a Princess again.
Its been awhile.
And that will probably be the last time for awhile until after this little bundle arrives.
This was the very fun Daddy Daughter Princess Ball put on by Pirate and Princess Parties.
It was so much fun to play with the little girls and see their faces light up.
I wish I had more pictures of the ball but the only ones I could get were in our dressing room.

Isnt she adorable? Her and Flynn Rider are married and get to do this as a couple.
I adore her!

Maternity clothes? I am contemplating it. my jeans are getting tight and uncomfortable.
Sleep: What is this sleep people speak of? Good practice for the future right?
Best moment this week: Being more aware of her 'movements' and being able to share with Gav
Miss Anything? My old body. Its really starting to feel completely foreign to me
Movement: Yup. Not much though. She is still such a mellow baby.
Food cravings: Fruit and veggies-Yum. I have a big appetite like never before in my life. Its odd!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really. Heartburn is a beast. I heard if you have heartburn, the baby will have lots of hair on their cute little head. We shall know in time!
Gender: Girly girl
Labor Signs: No
Other effects: The books say that she will be doubling in size this month, so I am super super tired.
Belly Button in or out? Its almost out.
Wedding ring on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy and tired

So here I am. . . back at the library, anxiously waiting for hulu to load.

Remember this post about my stunt man of a dad?

Well now its time to brag about my mama.

I mentioned in that post how my dad did the shootouts at Lagoon Amusement Park.

Well I failed to mention my mom also worked there in the entertainment department.

They met there...

{Pause to sigh... Awww!}

Apparently the performers were the cool kids on the block.

Anyway, my mom is quite the performer.

Quite talented if I do say so myself.

On our trip {Florida} my mom tried out for the American Idol Experience in Disney's Hollywood Studios, and my mom was asked to perform.

We got to see her rock the stage for the first show of the night...

She is super talented. Seriously.

Oh, did I mention she won?

Yup. Hands down.

The crowd loved her!

She got to go onto the finale of the show and sing her little heart out again.

Unfortunately she didnt win that round, but it was so fun to see her perform and hear her sing.

She is my hero.

I bet my dad felt like he was back in his Lagoon days, falling in love with the hot brunette with the big hair and even bigger voice.

I know this is a bit late but I have been behind in my reality tv shows lately.
I have a guilty pleasure and it comes in the form of romantic dates, crazy girls and roses.
Yes, I watch The Bachelor.

I honestly dont know why I enjoy watching it... it is kinda like a train wreck.
I. Cant. Look. Away.
So here are the thoughts that are going through my head during the Park City Episode:

1. Park City Baby!
2. Girls are so silly
3. "I wish it were over and done and we were going to the grocery store right now" Ha.
4. Is it just me or are they totally playing up the Kacie B + Ben relationship?
5. I just LOOOOOVE Utah.
6. Ben is kinda a weirdo.
7. I hate when girls 'chat' and just say things the other girl wants to hear.
8. It must be so weird to try to have a normal conversation with a camera in your face.
9. This is awkward. The conversation is definitely lagging.
10. Beaver dam? Really?
11. All the food they are eating is making me hungry... I must be pregnant.
12. All the kissing is making me nauseous. . . I must be pregnant.
13. I would go CRAZY around so many girls 24/7
14. I dont like Courtney. "When I am around him, I blossom." Um. . . Shut up.
15. "This fire is hot." Um, really?
16. Shall we create a tally of how many times they mention Ashley? I think we are on number 2.
17. Really? He gave her a rose? Lame.
18. Yum... Smores. Yup. I am prego.
19. Fishing date? Um... snore.
20. Is the Utah girl mad they are in Park City?
21. He does NOT look at ease on a horse...
22. Hmm... that horse kinda looks like one of our horses. His name is Uhno.
23. Bahaha! He totally almost fell off the horse and into the river. I soooo wish he had.
24. Where are they riding my utah peeps? Its super pretty.

Well my time at the library is up.
{Yes, I have to catch up on my shows at the library because we cant afford internet.}
Its late. And I am hungry.
Looks like I will have to finish this episode another time.

How will I ever survive not knowing what happens?

It's hard for me to whistle... ok its almost impossible. Embarrassing.
I'm reminded of how much I love my husband when he helps me clean up.
I feel self-conscious when have to hand the nurse my cup at the doc's office. "Um, hi. Here is my specimen."
I am mildly dishonest when I tell the waiter/waitress at Wingers its my birthday even though its not so I can get a free Asphalt Pie.
I can't imagine a world without Apple Cinnamon Cheerios and baby booties.
I'm surprised that I still want to eat even though I already had a sandwich. Fish crackers. Rice Krispy Treats. Banana. Shasta.... Aaaaand a fruit roll up.
I get a little too easily wrapped up in dreaming up crafts for the baby's room.
I indulge in guilty pleasures like watching The Bachelor. Oh Ben... Please cut your hair.
I wish all things in life were as wonderful as sleeping in on a rainy day and cuddling up to the hubby.

Obsessive?

lately i have been super anxious about being organized and keeping everything clean.
i wouldnt say that this is a new attribute, its quite normal for me actually.
so why am i blogging about it, you ask?
well... it seems like its even more so than normal.
let me explain...
remember in a few post previous, i wrote about 'the waiting game'? well i think that has something to do with it.
i am due the end of may, but we will be moving to a new place about a month later.
where exactly that is, we dont have any clue.
what an adventure right?
we are living in my grandparents house while they are on their mission.
we have been living there for about 6 months and our stuff has started to melt into theirs and it has me worried.
how am i going to keep track of everything and pack everything when i am either 9 months prego OR with a brand new baby?
oh the adventure.
so lately i have been trying to separate everything and pack anything i can.
is this a good idea to start so soon?
i dont know.
i cant help it.
i like to think i am planning and preparing. but who knows if its a good idea or not.
wish me luck either way!
i guess some people call it "nesting."
hmmm... makes sense.

They talked alot about movie magic and monster makeup.

She was from Iran and spoke little english.

They had her do all kinds of crazy things to scare her.

Like trying to saw off her arm.

She screamed.

Awesome.

The Waiting Game

Some of you know this game all too well.

Sure, it seems like there is always something we are waiting for in the near future....

Whether its the summer time,

a holiday or birthday,

a BABY.

There is always something to look forward to.

We have a lot of events coming in the future but the 'game' I am refering to is the

EDUCATIONAL waiting game.

You know the one...

We are at a point now where Gavin has started applying to different Pharmacy's schools.

We are waiting to hear back.

Ah. Fun.

We {I say we even though its technically just him. I am the support!} have heard back from 3 schools so far and all THREE want to interview Gav.

We hope to go to school here in Utah, but are considering many places.

{Hawaii anyone?!}

How do you find the time/energy to take such wonderful pictures ALL the time?

I LOVE taking photos but I honestly have a hard time remembering to do it on a DAILY basis.

You guys are all so good at it.

What is your secret?

I feel like I can take alot of pictures but I never am IN any of them.

Anyone else have this problem?

Kinda a bummer when you get tons of pics of everyone but yourself, right?

I am 21 weeks and still havent really felt her move yet.

Anywho...

So here is another day from our adventures in Florida.

On this foggy day, we went to the Animal Kingdom and it looked exotic to say the least.

They have a new baby gorilla at AK.

We sat there for about 20 min just watching him run around like a little toddler.

So cute.

Funny story about this pic.

Since I couldnt ride Expedition Everest because of this baby girl,

I decided to attempt to get a picture of the rest of the family coming down the drop.

My sissy and I walked a few hundred yards away from the ride and lined up my zoom lense.

When we knew the next riders were coming, we decided at the last minute to "practice" as they zoomed by.

I shot about 10 super quick photos of this group coming down.

I felt pretty good about it and I figured the fam would be coming down next.

But then a flash of yellow {Dad} caught my eye.

I was thrilled when I zoomed in on this pic and there they were!

Couldnt have been better timing.

This show was phenomenal!

Everything was performed by talented actors with these AMAZING puppets.

So fun and colorful!

This show was also really fun.

I thought it was going to be the actual Lion King show, kinda like Nemo was,

but it was a festival of music and (fire!) dancing.

This was my favorite...

Oh! Another funny story was when we were eating lunch and a hawk landed in the tree above the tables.

Well lets just say, we were ALL very lucky to NOT have been "rained" on by this hawk.

We did lose our appetites though.

Gross.

Chrismas-Disney Style

This Christmas was... Different to say the least.

Wonderful, Yes! But different.

My family packed our bags and headed to Sunny Florida to spend some time at

The Happiest Place on Earth.
I had never been there before and was so excited to see it decked out for Christmas time.

I took TONS and TONS of pictures so I will be splitting up the posts over several days.

Here are some scenes from Christmas day itself.

We were lucky.

We got to spend the Holiday in several, I repeat, SEVERAL different countries... thanks to Epcot.

For the busiest time of year, Epcot was surprisingly quiet.

{Unlike Magic Kingdom, they shut their doors around 8:00AM}

We started out in Canada.

Then we strolled on over to England...

Next was my favorite...

There, we found the most AMAZING (and authentic) French Cafe.

It was to die for.

It was FULL of yummy treats. It was so hard to decide what to get.

I got the strawberry tart (pic above)

Sooooo very yummy.

I want a cafe at my house.

Gavin liked America, there was a sweet treat there for us to enjoy:

Ahhh! :P

Then we headed on over to the Piazza!

Then onto Germany and Norway...

In one of the shops, I found this GORGEOUS castle covered in rhinestones.

Go on...

Seriously?!

Haha.

We ended the day sampling tons of free soda from around the world.

My favorite was the Apple Soda from Mexico.

Yum.

Tastes like Apple Beer.

(Anyone else LOVE apple beer?!-If you dont know, there is NO beer in this delicious beverage)

Italy had a soda there called The Beverly.

They say that you drink it before a meal to improve your appetite.

It was alot of fun at Epcot on Christmas day.

Wow you guys. I know I've apologized before, but I just have to do it again.

I am so sorry I've been MIA in the wonderful world of blogs recently.

There has been soooo much going on, I just had to put my blogging passion on the back burner for a bit.

Dont worry, I will be back to normal in no time.

Well... As I am sure you are ALL hoping to find out if we are having a boy or girl...

You are just going to have to wait a bit longer because we still need to tell my Grandma and Grandpa Jones. They deserve to know! :)

I started a new job at a cute little scrapbook store called Pebbles in my Pocket and I LOVE it!

Nothing beats being surrounded by crafty things, cheerful people and festive Christmas music!
I did lose my previous job, but it was a blessing in disguise and I couldnt be happier that it happened.

We celebrated Gavin's 26th birthday with his twin sister, Kate, and family at Olive Garden on the 15th.

I cant believe we've been together almost 3 years now. (2 married, 1 dating-not in that order)

We also had our fun and festive Whitehead Family Party AND Jones/Alvey Bowling party and had alot of fun. (Sorry I am still waiting on pictures!)

We head out to Orlando tonight and I am as giddy as a fat kid in a candy store!
I hope to be able to keep you all up to date on our adventures, but I dont know how often I will have access to a computer.
I vow to do my best!

Disneyworld, Harry Potter Adventure, here we come!

I just want to say thanks to all my readers.

So sorry I have been MIA in the blogosphere lately. Its a long story.
I lost my job. Started a new one.

I am trying to get everything done and ready for our trip.

Gavin's birthday is Thursday.
His finals are this week.

Whew.

Something about the Christmas season has got me saying this a lot more frequently.

{Maybe its just because I'm prego--I dunno}

I have a few different happy places.

One of them is Cancun.

The other is Disneyland.

I also love being anywhere with my hubby.

And the last is a quaint little shop in Gardner Village called, Anastasia's Attic.

Have you ever been there?

Its seriously a little piece of magic straight out of a fairy tale!

You come in and the music just enchants you!

You are immediately drawn to either

C} Any other corner because they are all so mesmerizing!

You can even get a Fairy Kiss if you ask one of the fabulous ladies up at the counter.

Of course I can. Its my blog.

Dont worry, when I vent I try to share it in a funny way.

I dont think this post will disappoint.

Well my new favorite thing is LEGGINGS!

Especially because jeans are super uncomfortable when you have to use a hair tie to help you button your pants.

I love you, baby but somethings are just super uncomfortable.

Leggings are a-mazing.

I totally love the dress shirt look with leggings/socks and boots.

{And a scarf..Gotta love a scarf}

I was browsing ebay looking for some inexpensive leggings for myself since I was having a hard time finding some at a decent price. And volia! There they were.

Pretty AND cheap. Done.

I ordered myself some.

I anxiously checked the mail for my leggins when it was due to arrive.

Nothin.

Darn. I check the next day. Still nothin.

Hmm nuts... finally I get an email from the seller:

Yuck.

Its ok... weird stuff happens to the best of us.

So I replied with an alternative color of my liking.

I check the mail every day for a week and a half.

Still nothing.

Finally I ask if she got my message.

She asked to verify my address.

I did.

Still nothin.

I. am. getting. ticked.

I WANT MY LEGGINGS! Its flippin COLD here!

STILL NOTHING!

I email her again and she says she needs my address AGAIN.

I gave her another chance. I really wanted these leggings.

Nada.

So I email her and ask for my money back.

Wowzers.
Is she for real?

{I can be patient.. I Can Be Patient... I CAN BE PATIENT!}

I replied giving her the low down.

Guess what...
Thats right. Nothin.

I am getting seriously miffed at this point. Who is this girl and does she treat ALL her customers like this?

I emailed again. She still doesnt know who I am.

{How hard would it be for her to look back through her inbox to figure it out? If it were me, I'd feel so bad about messing up an order, I'd hunt down the email like Gaston stalks the Beast}

It has been a MONTH and a HALF since I ordered and I still dont have my money back.

Ok, its only like $10 total that I'm asking for, but I am a POOR girl who is trying to support her husband and future baby.

That $10 can go a long way!

I opened a case with Ebay to report her and she still is being difficult.
ALL I want to know is if I will be getting my money back anytime soon.

Is that too much to ask?!

Seriously, am I over-reacting?

I replied letting her know that ALL I want is my money back.
She replied with... "Yes, but I am worried about getting bad feedback."

Hmm...

I think the whole thing could have gone better if she had just not started that first email with:

"Hi hun."

There is somthing so patronizing about being called 'Hun' by someone you dont know.

Wouldnt you say, hun?

Ok, you got it.

We will HOPEFULLY find out a week from TOMORROW if we are having a boy or a girl.

IF baby cooperates.

I heard I should drink a sip of caffeine before so the baby will move around a bit.

Anyone else heard that?

As of right now, my poll (<<<<<) says that out of 34 votes, 55% think its a girl.

and 41% think its a boy. . . and 1% thinks its an alien.

Thanks to whoever voted that.

I am sure it was a family member trying to be funny.

So I have another story for you.

Oh the good times we have!

Well Gav and I decided to wait a bit before we told our families.

We like to make sure things are pretty solid before we get too excited.

So we waited to tell the Gardner side.

We had been debating on HOW to tell them for awhile and we decided that we would tell our niece, Naiya and tell her it was a secret. Then we were hoping she woulnt be able to keep it a secret and say something.

Well... that DID happen. . . kinda.

Gavin took her to the side and told her to keep it a secret.

Then a few minutes later, we are all sitting around the dinner table and she comes up to Gav and has this mischevious look on her face.
We are thinking, 'this is it!' and she announces,

"I KNOW HOW BABIES ARE MADE!"

Of course everyone burst out laughing.

This embarassed her and she ran out of the room.

Awhile later, everyone still has the giggles and Gav announces that he may have thrown Naiya under the bus.

They asked if we were making an announcement and we said yes.

Oh Naiya...

You make us giggle.

Well there has been an update since then.
It appears that a cute little family from California has bought the house and is calling it their 'home'

I am quite jealous.

Well.. I was just browsing our local news website and came across this story...

'Up' house may be too colorful for neighborhood harmony.

Apparently, the distinctive look has stirred a bit of controversy among neighbors in the Herriman subdivision.

One neighbor was quoted saying,

"We see it every morning when we wake up and eat breakfast, we would like to not have to see multi-colors as we look out of our windows."

Is he for real?

What a Scrooge!

I would LOVE to start off my morning seeing those bright colors and a house that represents the love of a man and wife and the pursuit of their dreams.

Weird little side note, but my wardrobe used to be alot of blacks, tans and greys and I recently started adding more color and who would have thought that just a little color during your day would brighten your mood!?

Seriously.

I dont see what the big deal is.

We could all use a little more bright, cheerful color in our lives.

Awesome and Awkward-ness

I never believed all the stories about pregnant ladies having silly things happen to them because they just dont remember things... Well, I was wrong. Its true. I am soooo spacey now. Little things just slip my mind and I am shocked how I just 'forget' things.

Love our 'awkward' faces here. We didnt know we BOTH were making that face. . . We must be related.

awkward:

-walking into the boys bathroom at work, knowing FULL well that the womens is on the OPPOSITE side of the hallway. Good thing no one was inside.

-went to the doc and they asked how tall I was. Confidently, I said 5'7" (Thats what I was last time I checked) They measured me anyway and apparetly I am only 5'5". I had shrunk. Aaaand they think I'm a liar.

-mexican food makes me want to puke. I was reading about a character in a book that was eating at a mexican restaurant and i seriously got queasy at the thought of a smothered burrito. :( I hope that goes away soon. I love mexican food!

- almost crying at the doc appointment. Not because I am so excited to be a mommy, because he told me I couldnt ride the rides at Disneyworld this Christmas.

-decorating the Christmas tree. Those buggers! I hate putting the lights on the tree! It looks awful and my hands are all scratched up. How do people DO it?! Seriously. I have a WHOLE new appreciation for the people who light up Temple Square.

awesome:

-learning we dont have to pay the extra money to get an ultrasound to find out gender before Christmas.

-getting past the first trimester

-craving Strawberry Limeaides from Sonic. Yum.

-finally feeling better. Still tired all the time but dont get as nauseous (at night-weird right?)

-going over baby names with Gav.

-~~decorating the tree. This might be better categorized under awkward... I'm going back to add it now...~~

-listening to Christmas music

-getting more excited to GIVE gifts this year than RECEIVE them.

Do You Have Any Idea How Hard it is to Keep that Secret!?

Seriously guys. I am almost 15 weeks along and I am just barely posting it on my blog.

No, I am not a slacker.

I just wanted the pictures to be done...

And we wanted to wait awhile to tell the whole world.
Oddly enought, it was hard to tell our families about Baby Gardner because we didnt even believe it ourselves.

(Still have a hard time believing it!)

But now I can blog about it! Yay!

And boy to I want to remember all thats happened so far.

Lets see...

I'll start by how I told Gav.
Honestly, it wasnt as cool as I always thought I'd tell my hubby we were expecting.

I just bought a few pink and blue balloons and snuck them into the house.

He would have caught on too fast if it lasted any longer than a glance.

PS We both thought the whole thing where you show your husband the pregnancy test is just gross.

'Hey honey! Come look at this stick I just pee-ed on.'

Ew.

He was surprised and we laughed and hugged and Gavin wrestled me.

(He gets rowdy when he's excited and happy. He always wants to wrestle someone after we come out of the temple.)

Anyway, thats all for now. Dont worry, I have more stories to tell!

Oh!

We are going in for an ultrasound on December 15 to find out if we are having a BOY or a GIRL.

Thanks to my sweet friend, Kelsey I borrowed some pictures of our Breaking Dawn outing.

The girls went to Pizzeria 712 for dinner and ate delicious pizza, flatbread and hummas.

Then we headed over to the theatre and I gave the girls some goody bags filled with

Double Date Night (Make Believe)

Yesterday, I found a cute post on Tales of Me and the Husband blog and I thought it was super fun!

It got me thinkin...

Which celebrity couple would I want to double date with?

This was a harder question than I thought!

It's hard to think of couples who havent recently split-Kardashian style.

(Yeah, I just went there.)

I cant help but think it would be SUPER awesome to double with these two...

I feel like just being next to them would raise our 'cool' factor.

Bears and Cheese Rolls

Yesterday, Gav and I grabbed lunch at The Quilted Bear.

There is a little restaurant/cafe inside full of yummy things.

When I was little, my mom had a booth at QB, so she'd take us there all the time.

She promised if we were good, she would buy us a cheese roll.

Those cheese rolls were to die for!

So big and yummy.
My brother and I would be perfect little angels until we got our delicious snack.

Then, we probably continued terrorizing each other.

Well I was feeling nostalgic.

{And the place I REALLY wanted to go to was closed until dinner time}

So I took Gavin there.

We got our soup and cheeserolls and I was in Heaven.

I wish I had one right now.

Afterwards, we wandered around the store, killing time.

(It was a monsoon outside)

This was my favorite part...

Yes, PLEASE walk straight into the doors.

Lauren's Loves {At a very young age}

1. A nervous habit I have is tearing paper. I dont know why I do it. Or I twittle with my hair.
2. Something that makes me sad is not having enough money to buy everyone I love everything they ever dreamed of. I want to make all their dreams come true, and sadly, that costs money!
3. Today I am thankful for a fun filled night with my girlfriends watching Breaking Dawn. The movie wasnt all that great, but the company was awesome! Pics to come....
4. My favorite room in my house is my bedroom. Its comfy, cozy and I just love cuddling up in my bed and either watching a movie, reading or just talking/wrestling with Gavin.
5. I can't stand stupid drivers. Ugh! Dont honk at me when I am merging but you are tearing across 3 lanes and cut ME off. Idiots.
6. If I had an extra $100 to spend on whatever I wanted today I would probably save it. Lame I know, but money is super tight right now.
7. The last person I hung out with was Gentri, Kelsey, Kirsten, Nicole, Mckenna and Alexis. So much fun!

Is it just me or is Snow White becoming 'cool' again?

Not that the classic Disney Princess isnt cool...

She just tends to be overlooked next to the other princesses.

Trust me, I would know.

Working for Princess Parties,

Snow White is the least picked princess to grace birthday parties.

{Luckily, I have a party on Saturday!}

Anyway, the point of this post is not to talk about parties,

what I really want to do is talk about the new upcoming Snow White movies.

Which one are you more excited for?

Orignally, when I heard they were making not ONE but TWO Snow White movies,

I was more excited for the one with Julia Roberts and Lily Collins {Mirror Mirror} because

A} I LOVE Julia Roberts

and

B} As I have mentioned before, I HATE Kristen Stewart.

But now after seeing the trailers, I am MUCH more excited for Snow White and the Huntsman.

Why, you ask?

To be honest...

I love to laugh, but when it comes to fantasy movies, I LOVE a bit of drama.

I want adventure and peril lurking around every corner, and SWATH

{Snow White and the Huntsman-haha} looks like there is more at stake, therefore, more room for emotion.

Hence the reason I adore Lord of the Rings!

Ah! I love a good epic movie.

Christmas Tree's and Cabins

This weekend was magical!

It began Friday night when Gavin and I headed up to Oakley to stay at a friends cabin.

We were to meet up with my family at a diner for dinner called Rhode Island Grill.

Gav and I arrived early to get a table for eleven. We walked in and it took a full 5 minutes before anyone walked out of the back to greet us. And when he did he very OBVIOUSLY checked his watch and asked in a thick Irish accent if we would be done and out the door by 8:00. {Keep in mind, this is a Friday night. Who closes that early on a weekend?}

Well I call my mom up and she says they are about 10 minutes away. And knowing my family, we like to chat so there was no way we'd be out by 8:00 since it was already 7:40.

Mom said she called earlier and cleared it with someone but the Irishman was NOT having it. So my mom called the restaurant to verify with him.
Talk about awkward. Gav and I sat there while they 'chatted' on the phone.

I wanted to high tail it out of there.

We convinced my mom to find somewhere else to eat in Kamas so we wouldn't be rushed and could enjoy our dinner.

We ended up finding this cute little restaurant called Gateway Grille.

IT WAS A-MAZING!

The service was awesome. Instead of a mean humbug Irishman, we had a sweet lady from Hawaii.

The food was awesome. Gav and I split a steak and it was excellent.

Yum.

We were able to relax and laugh the night away.

When we get to the cabin, it is warm and cozy and decorated for Christmas. It was just 'cabin-y' enough to feel like a mountain getaway but not too rustic that we didnt feel comfortable.

Our plan was to go cut down our Christmas trees in the morning but Gav and I forgot our permits!

Seriously?

Who does that?

Der.

Anyway, the family convinced us that we would be fine and we'd just put our trees on the bottom of the pile.

They had never been pulled over before...

So we agreed so we didnt have to travel back down the mountain.

We wake up and head out to Daniels Summit and have a blast playing in the snow

and finding the perfect tree for each household.

When we started heading down the canyon back to the cabin, we see a ranger drive by and flip around behind us.
Oh no! What are the odds!? The ONE year we forget our permits and we are being followed by the DNR guys!?

He flashes his lights and since he is behind my aunt and uncle, they get pulled over.

My mom is looking in her rear view mirror and doesnt know what to do.

We have one tree on our car without a permit and they have one on theirs. Do we go back and get busted twice!?

Ugh.

We decided to loop around and explain to the officer what happened to our permits.

But suddenly, my uncle and aunt come flying down the road the opposite direction.

That was way too fast to have gotten a ticket.

And now we were headed right toward the ranger!

Ack!

So we flip around as he turns the corner up ahead.
Safe!

We called my aunt and she told them we were off the hook!
He didnt even check the trees!

I tell ya, I was soooo worried.

So we are all laughing about our luck when we see a highway patrolman on the side of the road.

We pass and he flips around behind us!

What in the world?

This cant be happening.

He follows us ALL the way through Heber and we are sitting on pins and needles waiting for the lights to come on.

We must have done something right in the last few weeks, because karma was kind.

He didnt pull us over!

Wowza.

Its our lucky day!

We get back to the cabin and are all laughing when we realize the power is out.

Yes. The electricity is completely out.

Seriously?

Well luckily for us, our dinner had cooked all the way before the power went out and was still warm.

We ate delicious lasagna and chicken Alfredo.

We light some candles and cozied up to the fire.

We told stories and napped. And since the power was out, the kids couldnt bang away on the piano/organ.

Thank goodness.

A blessing in disguise.

As it got later, the harder it was to see with no electricity.

A few of my cousins had left early and were texting telling us the roads were bad and were only supposed to get worse.

My uncle thought it would be a good idea to leave then instead of in the morning.

But the Jones side was perfectly content waiting out the storm until the next day.
Luckily, my uncles family decided to stay too.

And even MORE lucky is that the weather cleared up on Sunday morning and it was smooth sailin' all the way home.

{The power eventually came back on, but by then, it felt so late because it had been dark for awhile so I ended up falling asleep at 9:00!}

I loved every second of this weekend.
Gav and I joked that we would rather be at the cabin all day Sunday because with no electricity, it was quite relaxing.

It was seriously a whole other world.

So fun and magical.

Sorry this is such a long post! I hate reading long posts so if you didnt read, I totally understand!

Although it is kinda funny. . .

After an AMAZING weekend, my case of the Mondays just got better after watching this:

I literally think I was holding my breath the WHOLE TIME!

I CANNOT WAIT!

Today is Veterans Day and I would like to take a second and thank all those who have fought for 'the things we have'.

Our freedom means everything and I cannot express how thankful I am for all those who have fought for that freedom.

I especially would like to thank my Grandpa Jones.

He is such a great man and I wish they lived closer so we can see them more often.

I know he has worked really hard in his life and I love and appreciate all he has done.

This is a little shout out to ya, Grandpa!

Happy Thursday Everyone!

{Cant believe its only Thursday. . . I kept thinking it would be Friday today. I was sadly mistaken.}

But thats ok because that means its THANKFUL THURSDAY!

This week I am thankful for:

1} Laughing with my brother and the hubberz while watching Parks and Rec.

2} Finding new books to cuddle up and read in my warm bed.

3} Peppermint hot chocolate.

4} Finding old friends on facebook.

5} Having crazy dreams that make me laugh when I wake up. For example, last night, I was dreaming I was in a post apocolypse time being chased by zombies. Apparently I think thats really cool and not scary at all.

Last night, the hubberz asked me to tell him something that was on my bucket list that I have never told him before.

I blanked.
I am pretty sure I talk to him alot about the things I want to do someday.

Was this his subtle way of telling me I talk too much?

What DO I want to do? It got me thinking... almost everything I want to do is travel.

Hmmmm...mmm. :)

But then I remembered that in high school I made a bucket list and I instantly went hunting for my old journal.

After some searching I finally found it, along with my bucket list!

My Attempt at a Fashion Post

I like to think I can be fashionable....

When I put my mind to it.

But most the time, I'd just like to wear sweats and pull my hair up in a pony tail or ballerina bun.
Easy right?
And sometimes I just need some energy and some inspiration.

Guest Post {Gentri Lee}

So just an update from my crazy weekend. Saturday morning. Gav and I got up at the wee morning hours of 4:30 so we could make the drive up to Heber so we can get our Christmas tree permits! It snowed like crazy!

We arrived and had to wait in line to get wrist bands at 5:45 and waited in the snow until about 6:30 am.
Once we got our wristbands, we went to lunch at Micky D's with my mom, sister, aunt, uncle, cousin and her hubby.
We drank yummy hot chocolate and chatted while the snow kept fallin.
After that, we went back to wait in line AGAIN for another hour to get our permits.
It was a LONG morning and a LONG day.
But it was fun.

Next saturday we will go get our trees. :) That will be a fun post.

So more random stuff, remember how I have crazy dreams and this post talks about how I dreamt about Taylor Lautner?

Well I had another weird dream last night about this guy:

It wasnt too random because we did watch Fast Five last night.

But what is REALLY weird is that in my dream, Vin took me dancing... and he had hair.

A mop of hair.

Weird right?

I dont even think he's cute.

I like guys with freckles...

Hello Lauren's awesome readers! My name is Gentri- I blog over at Gentri Lee. I was so excited when Lauren asked if I'd guest post. I love her and her blog and consider us great friends.

As I was pondering what i should write this post about, I got to thinking about Lauren's blog name- "My Happy Thought". And I wondered- What is MY happy thought? While many things came to mind, the one I could not ignore was- Adventure. I. Love. Adventures. One of the best feelings in the world is the day before you head out on a big adventure- all of that anticipation!

I make sure that my life is filled with adventures, travels, and explorations. I love seeing new places, experiencing new things, and creating new memories.

One of my favorite types of adventure would be- The Road Trip. I love being able to experience things WHILE traveling to your destination. In a plane you completely miss all the wonderful things that are in between. (not to mention flying makes me sick...) Roll the windows down, turn on the tunes, and follow that open road- nothing better!

I've realized that I take a lot of pictures of my feet. (I promise this is going somewhere. haha!) No I don't have an obsession with feet (perhaps with shoes... but that's a different topic). I realized that I like seeing where I've walked. Where I've been. Where I'm going. I like having that small memory saved away.

While I LOVE big adventures- I find so much joy in the little ones too. It's impossible for me to constantly live my life traveling, so I find ways to make day to day life adventurous. Because life should be an adventure.

I love being home and I LOVE where I live. But being on an adventure is what gets me all excited. It's my happy thought. :)

Hello My Happy Thought Readers. My name is Vivian and I blog at Dance for 5. I am very excited to be here today. Lauren is such a fun and sweet person. I’m so grateful I came across her blog a while back. She will always make sure to bring a smile to my face. THANK YOU so much Lauren for having me.

The other day, I had to work at the hospital for a couple of hours and my friend and neighbor was kind enough to watch my kids for that amount of time. When I came to pick them up, this is where I found them:

Do kids still climb trees? I don’t think they do it enough, not anymore. Growing up trees and friends were my favorite pastime. I remember my dad getting one of those huge truck tires and I would swing while singing and pretending I was on stage. We had a guava tree, orange tree, among many others in my backyard. We had literally fresh fruit juices every morning for breakfast. My kids will never know what that’s like.

When I found them climbing on the tree I knew that besides recording one of those rare moments, I had to remind them of a gift that’s overlooked: Our mother earth. I had to remind them to stay as children as long as they can and to put away the mind consuming technologies and marvel in the simple but yet fascinating things God created to give us peace and joy.

I want to plant more trees. I want to make more swings on trees. I want to feel more leaves on the sole of my shoes when I walk to get the mail.

I once heard that someone’s life is not complete until they write a book, they have a child and they plant a tree. I have been blessed to able to do all three (if journaling and blogging count as a book). Then I might as well say my life is COMPLETE.

This year, we celebrate our EIGHTEENTH annual family Halloween Party.

Every year, my family looks forward to this party and all plan our costumes WAY in advance.

We try to keep it a secret, but my cousins and I are soooo much alike.
Remember how I said I had a funny story for you?

Well, Gavin and I decided last year that we would go as these two character for this years party:

Funny right?

While I was putting our costumes together, the last thing I needed was a hat for Russell.

So, naturally I posted on facebook hoping a kind soul would have one I could borrow.

And the response I got from my cousin was unexpected...

So we started texting and played a game of 20 Questions.

It went something like this:

ME: Is your costume from a movie?

KAITY: Yes, is yours?

ME: AH! Yes! Disney or Non Disney?

KAITY: Disney. You? Ah! I think I'm right

ME: Haha! Yes Disney!

KAITY: Well I am pretty positive its the same movie. Is Gavin old?

ME: Yes

KAITY: Does he have a special love of BALLOONS?! Haha.

ME: AHH! No WAY!

KAITY: That is pretty much the funniest thing. Like a year ago I came up with that and thought it'd be so creative.

ME: I did too!

Well we both decided to find another costume since we are all about the "WOW" factor.

So Gav and I went as this:
