2,000 Stripling Warriors

Last week we went to the Bountiful parade.
It was awesome seeing the floats and marching bands but nothing topped seeing the 2000 Stripling Warriors wrap up the end of the parade.
For those of your who dont know the story of these warriors, let me tell you about it.

First off, in my faith, we believe in the Book of Mormon, which is another testament of Jesus Christ.
In the book there is an account of two different civilizations from the america's before/after and during the life of Christ.
These people are called the Nephites and the Lamanites and they were at war. But the converted Lamanites had made a vow to never to take up arms again. Their sons had not made this vow.

These 2,000 stripling soldiers had been taught by their mothers that God was with them, that He would not let them fall, that if they did not doubt, God would deliver them.

Being led by Helaman, they were in many battles, but none died. The Lord rewarded and preserved them; for believing in Him, for having faith, for obeying His commandments, and for striving to serve others.

At the parade, one of the entries was over 2000 young men from various wards in the area. They dressed up and represented these amazing warriors.

This is one of my favorite stories from The Book of Mormon and it was amazing to see these boys march. They came in all sizes, all ages and from every mold you could imagine. Two of my sweet cousins were able to be part of this and it brought tears to my eyes to see them so handsome and strong going down the route. I couldnt help but imagine what it must have been like all those years ago and seeing your sons, your brothers and friends go to war. I further couldnt imagine the emotion of every single one of those boys returning home.

Wow.
What a great opportunity to share the gospel and strengthen testimonies.
I stand all amazed.
